- Each cake ‘type’ has different ingredient compositions. We offer cakes made very differently than those at a regular bakery, hence the reason why the ‘price by weight’ system would be an inaccurate gauge.
Instead, we take into account your serving portions and work out a cake size that is suited to your purpose.
We put much effort and thought into each design and project concept. My final quotations take into account the complexity and difficulty of the design.
- How do I place an order? What is the procedure? Do you accept overseas transfers?
- First drop us an email or give us a call on +6012 508 1855. Your order will be noted, and a design and quotation will be proposed to you as promptly as possible. To secure a date on our schedule, a 50% deposit is necessary upon confirmation. Please take note that all customized orders are to be made at least 3 weeks in advance.
We accept local bank transactions and overseas online transfers (see below for account details). Email/fax us a copy of the proof of transaction and we will issue a confirmation email immediately when the transfer is complete. The balance of 50% is then collected upon delivery or pick-up.
- How much does a customized cake cost? What about customized cupcakes?
- All our customized cakes start at a base price of RM1000; the price increases with complexity of design and difficulty of techniques used.
As for customized cupcakes, they start at RM9 per piece with a minimum order of 50 pieces. We can offer you individual packaging as well if required. The price per piece will be based on the complexity of your design and whether extra packaging is needed.

How does your pricing system work? Why do you not sell per Kilo?
- Where are you currently based?
- Delectable.com.my is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Do you do deliveries?
- Our quoted prices include delivery to your location. We do not offer cupcake deliveries out of Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley region.
- Where is your pick up location?
- The Midvalley Megamall vicinity. We will let you know the details prior to collection.
- We would like a cake flavour that you do not have available. Can you personalize my order?
- Yes, definitely. If it can be done, we’ll be happy to change it up a little for you. We’re open to your ideas and requests.
- I have allergies.
- Do let us know in advance if you and your guests may have allergies to certain types of food or gluten. We do not currently have a gluten-free line of cakes available, but feel free to voice your requests and we will try to have something specially made for you.
- Do you use Halal ingredients?
- Our cakes, frostings and fondant (from Bakels) make use of halal ingredients. The gelatin we use is purchased from Malaysian bakery suppliers and is certified halal as well. However we do offer cakes with liqours like brandy and rum.
- What do you use to decorate your cakes?
- We use rollable fondant/sugar paste. It is a dough made from sugar, corn syrup and just enough liquid for it to ball up.
- Is it edible?
- Yes. It is often painted or airbrushed with food colouring, and is very safe to eat.
- What does it taste like?
- Fondant tastes almost like a chewy candy. It can be flavoured if you like. If the vibrant colours are a turn-off, or if it’s too sweet for your palate, feel free to simply lift off the mask of dough and serve the cake on its own. It should come off clean and neat unlike cream-based icings.
- It’s starting to form a thin outer shell crust. Is that normal?
- Yes it is very common. Our sugar-dough recipe is made to crust up just a little on the outside to give you a firm and neat finish on the cake.
- How long does fondant last?
- The frosting does not actually go ‘bad’; it’s the cake on the inside which needs attention. If you’re looking to know how long you can keep the decoration toppers for, please see the following question.
- Can I keep the sugar model/decoration if I do not want to eat it?
- Yes, just gently lift it off the surface and wipe the bottom clean. Leave this to dry completely (it should take a couple of days if placed in a dry and cool area). Store in a clean dry box away from direct heat. A small packet of moisture absorber or some limestone will help it stay intact for years. These dry sugar pieces do not attract ants or other unwanted rodents if they are clean.
